I’m Joseph Bakalchuck, the founder of Mohawk Monkey Media and a San Diego based photographer with a passion for capturing the raw energy of live performance. I specialize in photographing fire performers, musicians, and movement artists, bringing a cinematic eye and a collaborative spirit to every shoot. Whether I’m behind the lens at a high-energy showcase or creating branding visuals for artists and studios, I’m dedicated to crafting striking, expressive imagery that celebrates creativity in motion.
Production Assistant & Set Vibes Specialist
With a keen eye for lighting and a sixth sense for the perfect pose, I’m the behind-the-scenes glue at Mohawk Monkey Media. I come from a background in recruiting, so reading the room and keeping everyone comfortable is second nature. Whether I’m adjusting lights, offering pose cues, or making sure there’s enough caffeine on set to power a small city, my goal is to keep the energy up and the creativity flowing. I’m happiest when I’m making people feel seen, supported, and just the right amount of fabulous.
